Lift Your Car with the Jack
After making sure your car is parked in an area that’s safe and clear of traffic, use a tire iron to loosen the lugs on the flat tire. Once the lugs are all loose, position the jack at the corner of the vehicle under a solid part of the frame, checking your vehicle’s manual to make sure you’ve located a proper position. Jack up the car so the flat tire is off the ground.
Remove the Flat Tire
Using your tire iron, continue unscrewing each of the lugs from the flat tire, keeping them in a safe place throughout the rest of the tire-changing process. Carefully pull off the flat tire and set it somewhere secure, ideally where you normally store your vehicle’s spare tire.
Install the Spare Tire
Place the spare tire in the position of the flat tire you just removed. Tighten the lugs tightly by hand, then lower the car off the jack. Finally, tighten the lug nuts completely with the tire iron and proceed to the nearest BMW service center to locate a new tire as soon as possible.
