Picking a vehicle to purchase is a big decision for many drivers. Our Orlando BMW dealers get a lot of questions not just about our BMW models, but also how our BMW vehicles stack up against the competition. Today, we're comparing the 2022 BMW X5 to one of its biggest rivals: the 2022 Range Rover.

Performance and Fuel Efficiency

Our BMW model and the new Range Rover may be five-seater luxury SUVs, but there are plenty of ways in which they differ as well. Both models have a variety of powertrain options, but the BMW X5 has the ability to produce more overall power.

Overall, the 2022 BMW X5 generates up to 600 horsepower, while the Range Rover only musters 557 horsepower. The BMW X5 can also achieve 553 lb.-ft. of torque, which is more than the 516 lb.-ft. of torque produced by the Range Rover.

Another important consideration when you're buying an SUV is fuel economy, since SUVs typically use more fuel than smaller vehicles. Drivers can get up to 26 miles per gallon on the highway driving the BMW X5. By contrast, you'll only be able to earn up to 23 miles per gallon in the Range Rover.

Safety Features

The 2022 BMW X5 was named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring come standard with the BMW X5, but they're only available as upgrades with the Range Rover. As a bonus, knee airbags, which help keep drivers and passengers better positioned during a crash, also come standard with the 2022 BMW X5, but they are not available with the Range Rover.

These are just some of the ways the 2022 BMW X5 takes the edge over the 2022 Range Rover. Not to mention, this BMW SUV also comes in at a lower MSRP as well. Test-drive the BMW X5 today right here at our BMW dealership in Florida!
