When you think “BMW,” it’s not just luxury that comes to mind—it’s also cutting-edge technology and innovative design as well. Our automaker once again proves it's ahead of the game with the release of the all-new 2022 BMW iX.

This entirely new BMW is our brand's first all-electric compact SUV, and it’s compelling in many ways. While it won’t be for sale at Fields BMW Orlando until early next year, here’s what we know about it now.

2022 BMW iX Powertrain

Two variants of the BMW iX will be on offer: the xDrive50 and the M60. The former is powered by two electric motors that make a whopping 516 horsepower with standard all-wheel drive. The M60 model generates over 600 horsepower and comes with an available adjustable air suspension and rear-wheel steering.

Electric Power

The 2022 BMW iX has an electric range of around 300 miles per change. Standard DC fast-charging will allow drivers to reach 70-percent battery life in 35 minutes with a 200-kW connection, meaning you’ll never have to wait long to get back on the road.

Next-Gen Tech

Along with the BMW i4 sedan, BMW is equipping the new BMW iX SUV with its futuristic new infotainment system, dubbed the iDrive 8. This interface has functions such as custom menus and images, a voice-activated assistant, and a Wi-Fi hotspot with 5G capability. A massive 14.9-inch curved display is accompanied by a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, resulting in a wide dashboard dominated by tech.

While plenty of information has been released about the 2022 BMW iX, we still have a lot to learn about this new electric BMW. Contact our Florida BMW dealership to learn more about this all-new electric SUV.
