If you’ve been eager to hear the details of the newest BMW X1 model, it’s almost ready for the roll out. The newly designed 2016 BMW X1 will hit US car dealerships in fall 2015, and we know you can’t wait another minute to hear more about it.
Here’s our first look at the all-new 2016 BMW X1: unlike it’s predecessors which were built with a passenger car design, the new X1 is designed on a front-wheel-drive platform, similar to BMW models sold in Europe. The slightly shorter crossover SUV has also gained some height, making more head room for drivers and passengers alike, and allowing you and your guests to tote around much bigger cargo.
Pop the hood, and you’ll find a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine in the X1 xDrive28i and an eight-speed automatic transmission. And the all-new X1 is even lighter than the previous model by 65 pounds, allowing it to sprint from zero to 60 mph in just about 6.3 seconds.
If gadgets are more your thing, then check out these options in the 2016 BMW X1, like adaptive LED headlights, power-folding rear seats, and even an automatically powered liftgate that makes heavy lifting a thing of the past. Additional safety features are also available, including: lane-departure sensors, forward-collision warning, and automated parking assistance. And we couldn’t mention gadgets without noting the top-of-the-class BMW ConnectedDrive®, which features services and apps that give you access to the best in social media, travel, and entertainment--Facebook, Twitter, Spotify, iHeartRadio, Life 360, and more. You can even control your car remotely from your smartphone. Talk about convenience at your fingertips!
